How to Sign "Name" in American Sign Language (ASL)

In ASL, "name" is signed by extending your index and middle fingers of your dominant hand, then tapping these fingers twice on your other palm, like making a peace sign. This sign came from when people would sign their names on papers. When you want to know someone's name, you make the name sign and then draw a question mark in the air. Name signs are special signs that Deaf people give to each other, and they usually show something about the person's looks or what they like to do. Only Deaf people can give name signs to others.
