How to Sign "Month" in American Sign Language (ASL)

In ASL, "month" is signed by extending your index finger and moving it in a clockwise circle on your opposite palm. The sign came from watching how people mark days on calendars. The circular motion shows how we turn calendar pages and watch the moon change throughout the month. You use this simple sign when talking about dates and times.
