How to Sign "Math" in American Sign Language (ASL)

In ASL, "math" is signed by making an "M" handshape with your dominant hand and tapping it twice on the palm of your non-dominant hand. This simple sign is used a lot in schools. Some people sign it by making small circles with the "M" handshape on their palm instead of tapping, but most people use the double tap method. The sign shows up all the time when talking about school subjects. This sign came about when more deaf students started going to school.
