In ASL, "leave" is shown by moving your main hand forward with your palm down. The movement looks just like someone walking away from a place, and it's a simple sign that everyone uses daily. You can also do this sign with both hands starting together and moving apart, which shows a stronger meaning of leaving. The sign works everywhere, from talking with friends to formal meetings, and your face can show if you're leaving in a rush, don't want to leave, or are leaving forever. When you're talking about someone else leaving, you point the sign toward where they are or were.
