How to Sign "After" in American Sign Language (ASL)

In ASL, "after" is signed by holding your dominant hand in front of your body with the index finger extended, then moving it forward and slightly downward in a curved motion. This sign shows that something happens later. The movement shows how time moves from now to later, like drawing a line forward in the air. You can use this sign in many different ways, whether you're talking with friends or in more serious situations, and you can change it a bit to show if you mean right after or much later in time.
