How to Sign "Daughter" in American Sign Language (ASL)

In ASL, "daughter" is signed by making a modified "F" handshape and tapping twice on your chin. The sign comes from mixing parts of the signs for "female" and "child" together to create a new meaning. Signing near the chin shows it's about females in ASL, and the tapping shows it's about family. You can change the sign a bit to mean more than one daughter by adding an extra movement at the end.
