How to Sign "Chat" in American Sign Language (ASL)

In ASL, "chat" or "talk" is shown by moving both hands with index and thumb fingers out near the mouth, palms facing each other. The movement looks like mouths talking and people interacting with one another, making it easy to understand what the sign means. You can change how fast or big you make the sign to show if it's just a casual chat or a serious talk. Sometimes people just use one hand to make the sign when they're being casual. This sign came from watching how two people look when they talk to each other.
